Cloning Repositories

Once we have a remote repo (on GitHub or elsewhere), we'll need a way to bring that project onto our own computer. Cloning will do the trick for us:

git clone

Make sure that your SSH keys are setup and you have access to that repo. If you use the SSH url (, then you will authenticate with SSH keys. If you use the HTTPS way ( then you'll authenticate with user/pass.
