To install Git, visit the official site.
I'll be working on Windows, so if you want a prettier setup than what Git Bash offers, you'll need to install both Git Bash and ConEmu. ConEmu is a wrapper that has a better UI than default Git Bash. Here's a tutorial on how to set up your own: Get a Functional and Sleek Console in Windows.
To configure your Git install:
git config --global user.name "Chris Sevilleja" git config --global user.email firstname.lastname@example.org
You can also check your config using:
# view the entire config git config --list # view a specific config setting git config user.name Chris Sevilleja
